Huron's robotics team is gearing up for the big day—and we need YOU there cheering them on!

Our EpicBots have been working hard for the past eight weeks, and it all comes down to this: the Falcon BEST Robotics Competition at Bowling Green State University on Saturday, November 15.

If you've never seen a robotics competition before, trust me—it's worth the trip. These aren't just robots rolling around. We're talking remote-controlled machines designed and built entirely by students, competing in challenges that test everything from engineering skills to quick thinking under pressure.

Where: BGSU Stroh Center, 1535 E Wooster St, Bowling Green

The best part? It's completely free to attend. Free parking (Lot 24, right next to the Stroh Center), popcorn and concessions available, and a full day of watching some seriously impressive robots in action.

What is Falcon BEST?

BEST stands for Boosting Engineering, Science and Technology, and BGSU hosts the only BEST robotics competition in Ohio, Indiana, or Michigan. Nearly 1,000 people show up to this thing every year, and for good reason.

Student-led teams spend eight weeks designing, building, and programming their robots from scratch. Then they compete for the trophy and—let's be honest—bragging rights. But it's not just about the robots. Teams are also judged on marketing presentations, engineering notebooks, entrepreneurship interviews, and even video and website design.

At its heart, BEST Robotics is about inspiring the next generation of engineers, scientists, and problem solvers. And our EpicBots are right in the middle of it.

Why you should come:

Look, our students have put in the work. Late nights, problem-solving, rebuilding things that didn't work the first (or second, or third) time. They've earned a crowd that shows up loud and proud.
