Rolling Into the Future: Meet Bus 2

Huron City Schools is excited to share the newest addition to our transportation fleet, Bus 2, a 2026 Bluebird that rolled onto campus this fall with just 753 miles on the odometer.
This brand-new bus came with a price tag of $131,360, fully funded through local support. Bus 2 replaces a hardworking 2010 Bluebird that safely carried students for over 206,000 miles before its well-earned retirement.
The new model features a gas-powered engine and is designed for both efficiency and reliability. It will be used daily for student routes as well as athletic and academic trips, ensuring that our Tigers have safe and dependable transportation for years to come.
Investments like this reflect our district’s ongoing commitment to safety, reliability, and responsible use of local resources. Each new bus helps us keep students safe, maintain strong attendance, and support extracurricular activities across all grade levels.
Bus 2 isn’t just a bus, it’s a reminder of how our community comes together to make sure Huron students get where they need to go, ready to learn, compete, and succeed.
