Treasurer’s Forecast Update

Ohio House Bill 96 has changed the way schools prepare and report financial forecasts. Districts are now required to share three years of past financial data alongside four years of future projections—creating a seven-year picture of financial health.
At the September board meeting, Huron City Schools’ forecast was approved under these new requirements. Forecasts will now be updated each August and February to meet the new state deadlines.
This fall, we will also review the Permanent Improvement Forecast, which helps guide long-term investments in facilities, buses, and capital projects. By balancing near-term operations with responsible planning, Huron City Schools continues to prioritize transparency and financial stability.
